“The rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain”, as Audrey Hepburn used to sing. I don’t know about Spain, but the rain in England stays mainly when you're up to going for a nice outing somewhere. I shouldn’t complain, I know. After all, the bank holiday weekend started with two very nice days (here are the shots: first day – second day). The problem is that we had to pay a high interest rate on the third one. We woke up, it was raining. We had breakfast, it was raining. We left the Airbnb, it was raining. We arrived at Arundel, it was… raining, of course. And it was cold. On the 25th of August. While on Facebook friends posted photo galleries of Sicilian, sunny beaches and blue sea… Anyway. It was the perfect weather for visit to a medieval castle.

“In Inghilterra piove sempre” è uno sciocco pregiudizio. La verità è che in Inghilterra piove sempre quando decidi di fare una gita fuori porta. Non dovrei lamentarmi, lo so, anche perché non è vero neppure questo visto che su tre giorni, il weekend della bank holiday ce ne ha regalati due di sole. Sole inglese, naturalmente, ma sempre sole (qui le foto: giorno 1 – giorno 2). Il problema è che il terzo giorno ce li ha fatti pagare con interessi da strozzo. Ci siamo svegliati, pioveva. Abbiamo fatto colazione, pioveva. Siamo partiti dall’Airbnb, pioveva. Siamo arrivati ad Arundel e? Ma naturalmente pioveva. E faceva freddo. Al 25 di Agosto. Mentre su Facebook le mie amiche impunemente pubblicavano foto della Sicilia e di spiagge assolate e di mare blu... Comunque. Clima perfetto per visitare un castello medievale.
