Home, aaarrrgh sweet home!

Homeless?

On the 2nd of July, 2008 both MyFairEngineer and I left work early. We met somewhere I don't remember and we headed to a notary's office in Milan city centre, where other people were waiting for us to sign the deed to our house in Pleasantville.

Another year's over and a new one's just begun...

MyFairEngineer and I spent ten days in Milan over Christmas and they really flied. I met half the people I had planned to see and I had few opportunities to wander around the city due to a very nasty weather. People complaining about English weather should spend an autumn and winter in Milan: when rain arrives, it settles down and stays. For days. Per giorni. We only had one sunny day and obviously we rushed round to the city centre.

Steps

When MyFairEngineer first came here last March, he had a job and that was all. No home, no GP, no NINo, no UK bank account, not a clue of what he was going to do. As he was asked to start the new job as soon as possible, he left Milan on a rainy Sunday afternoon with only one suitcase, in order to start working the very next day. Result: his first week was quite messy, living in an Air B&B, looking for a decent flatsharing, trying to get used to this brand new situation.
